The limit and the horizon - Fragility, trauma and care

The Covid pandemic in which we are still immersed represents the great limitation that has stopped the world, generating unprecedented social distancing, economic and health crisis. At the same time, the speed with which scientific research has produced an effective vaccine is another unprecedented experience.

The consequences of this condition are evident for everyone, even if the long-term effect on mental health, sociability, working conditions, the economy, politics are not entirely predictable.

We experience the limit, in a condition where the horizon which is our moving limit is constantly shifting as we walk. We treat the pandemic and the damage to health and relationships while we think about the world to come, about the fight against poverty and inequalities that have dramatically increased. Yet the worldwide discovery of vulnerability, of the fragility of our breath on earth came as a traumatic rupture that needs care, reparation and solidarity beyond all borders and loneliness.

The aim of this conference is to promote reflection on these issues by bringing together the contributions of Neuroscience and Psychotherapy, clinical and research.

We die alone, but we only save ourselves together. A drama, an opportunity for rebirth, for the world that we will be able to repair and build.
